- SENSING: Some types of sensing are implemented in EasyPark, such as position, distance and image. In our project we need sensors to detect how many parking spaces are vacant and also to know when a car is approaching the campus and/or a specific parking lot.
- RESPONSIVE: Our system provides responsiveness by making decisions according to a context detection; in fact, it chooses the nearest parking lot on the basis of user’s position and preferences.
- ACTING: When the user is near the campus, his smartphone shows information about the parking availability. Once he enters one of them, he will receive customized indications.
- INTERACTING: The interaction between the system and the user is reached by a mobile interface by choosing a specific area around the campus where to park.
- SENSITIVE: The system is able to process the sensor data and act according to the information received.
- RESPONSIVE: EasyPark is able to respond to user’s needs by rapidly providing the status of the parking near the user’s position or close to a specific area.
- ADAPTIVE: The system provides different information to different users, depending on user’s preferences, his actual position and number of free spots in a parking lot.
- TRANSPARENT: The user benefits from this technology without knowing how it is made and how it operates. He just interacts with the system by using a mobile interface and/or a screen.
- INTELLIGENT: The system is able to know at every moment the status of all the parkings around the campus and when a user enters one of them it is also able to show him the nearest vacant space.
