What's the fuss all about?
We are all attending our senior year at the Politecnico di Torino university, and one of the courses we are attending is called Ambient Intelligence. Differently from many other courses, AmI aims to make us work on an actual project (you can guess what the project should be about by the course name).
Every year a different environment is chosen, and the students should work on a project aiming to make that environment “smarter”. As for us, the environment is our campus (also known as Cittadella Politecnica). Many and more ideas were proposed, and eventually our team decided to work on this one. We believe that TrackDown is a system anybody can find useful, and it could be easily ported outside the campus as well.
As per the course requirements, we will have to produce both adequate documentation, and a working prototype of the system. But we would like to do more: since many of the steps we will go through would probably go unnoticed otherwise, we decided to keep a blog along with the website. We are going to publish a few brief posts about the work we are doing, the problems we are going through, our successes and our failures. Hopefully this will be of some kind of interest to someone :-).
Please keep in mind that, for the time being, we are still working on the website: some images may need to be added, moved or edited.
Cheers,
404 Team
