So, what is Smart Make Your Bag?

SMYB is an intelligent bag that recognizes which objects are inside it. By also knowing the object’s relation to the user’s schedule events, SMYB is able to give the user an organized view of which objects are missing and which are redundant.

The system package includes a battery powered processing device (central node) and a series of colour-coded tags, which makes them easy to distinguish.
The device is placed inside the bag and scans for objects within a certain distance. Notifications are sent to the user's smartphone or through light and sound locally on the device.

In the initial configuration of the system, the user tags desired objects, indicates which politecnico courses he’s following and links objects to course events.
From then on SMYB is able to assist the user in organizing the objects.

Despite the organizational assistance provided, we know that the user is still going to forget something. Therefore SMYB can send last minute alerts about the forgotten object before the user leaves home.

The typical user is the common student at the politecnico, although the system might appeal to the more forgetful students, or the ones who have to bring many different objects to the politecnico.
